Through a variety of consulting formats, EHL students provide innovative and applicable solutions for many business challenges. Based on the organization's needs, the student consulting projects can be mandated to groups of Bachelor or Master degree students, always coached by faculty members of our School. Examples include:
A team of senior bachelor’s degree students will work full-time on your specific mandate under the guidance of a dedicated EHL faculty coach and with the support of a pool of EHL experts. Following a rigorous methodology, the student team will deliver a professional report that will include their research findings as well as a series of concrete and actionable recommendations.
Contributing to EHL Group’s strategic priority, Corporate Social Responsibility, EHL introduces Corporate Social Responsibility Student Business Project (CSR SBP), enabling students to contribute and give back to their community.
More precisely, these SBPs aim to underpin a local effort to improve the environment or society while maintaining an economic approach. In this vein, companies applying for a “CSR SBP” must be based in Switzerland and must have some link to the school , meaning being part of the hospitality industry or share common ground in terms of sustainable development, innovation, a societal issue, etc.
Each semester, one CSR SBP will be granted to an organization free of charge, following a selection process by an EHL commission.

Mr. Daniel Manser
Senior R&D Manager - Nestlé System Technology
"The participation in the SBP program turned out to be a real win/win situation. As an industry partner, we have benefited from receiving a valuable contribution in the exploration of the business opportunity for a new product idea.
The enthusiasm and the high degree of professionalism displayed by the students during the project have been outstanding. Above all, the striving for excellence that comes across EHL, its staff and students is truly a source of inspiration".
Christian Keller
General Manager – Lactalis Nestlé Produits Frais, Switzerland - Austria - Germany
"Working with a team of highly motivated, well-trained young EHL students on our project to develop a new product for the Swiss Chilled Dairy Market was a very satisfying experience for all members of our company who were in touch with them over the course of the 9 weeks.
The concept presented by the students team was well researched, very relevant and truly creative in its answer to the very challenging brief we gave them".
Gerald Engel
Divisional Strategy – Crédit Suisse Schweiz AG
"My colleagues and I were extremely satisfied with the result. The students from EHL were very professional, extremely motivated, always had client service excellence in mind, and developed creative and refreshing ideas on the banking topic that we had commissioned.
The final results presentation exceeded our expectations, both the written report and the team delivery during the presentation. That is why we have decided to invite the student group to present their findings to our top management. The Student Business Project was a success, and it was a pleasure to work with them."
Arthur Hery
Retail Operations Project Manager - OMEGA SA
"A successful SBP from a very active team who showed a detailed understanding of our industry and challenges.
The final presentation was mind-blowing, the team reproduced a Boutique to present their recommendations and to make us feel the in-store experience."
Arndt Mielisch
Communication Manager, Swisscom Hospitality Services
"Most of our innovations in hotel technology are preceded by a market validation and by the definition of a detailed launch plan. Both of these tasks must be completed in a very short space of time.
EHL’s Student Business Projects are able to deliver exactly the service we need in the small amount of time that we have, thanks to an extremely motivated group of students, tried and tested methods, and the support of highly-qualified faculty members."
Lukas Neulen
Business Development Manager, Feldschlösschen Getränke AG
"Feldschlösschen has been running a couple of EHL Student Business Projects now and the results have been very satisfying.
During the 10 project weeks, the students act as “Junior Business Consultants” with a real business issue and get senior management exposure. Their strong academic background makes them capable of quickly understanding the business context and the issues to solve."
Jan Sander
Sr. Global Marketing Manager, Philips Hospitality TV
"I was impressed with the overall quality of the work.
The project was carried out and presented in a very professional way, covering all the necessary aspects and providing actionable recommendations and new insights."
Skye Legon
Co-founder, OneLab Solutions
"Young companies like OneLab Solutions have limited time and resources to carry out extensive market studies. Having a group of 5 students working full-time for 9 weeks on our study allowed us to make huge progress in a very short period of time.
The group accomplished a remarkable amount of work that would have been impossible for us to achieve on our own. The final report was very professional and contained many actionable insights that we plan to leverage immediately."
Gregory Alibaux
Marketing Director, Pernod Ricard Swiss
"It was a pleasure to work with the students from EHL on a Student Business Project. We appreciated their enthusiasm, creativity and professionalism.
Thanks to their work, we have gained a more in-depth knowledge of the luxury goods market in Switzerland, clarified the position of our brands and identified new opportunities. The project will help us develop a more structured, professional approach to the high-end market.”
Pierre-François Leyvraz
CEO, CHUV
Chantal Cartier

“The international focus of the SBP 25 team provided us with the best examples worldwide in terms of the social media strategy of hotels.
The results of the study were part of the program of the 5th Swiss hotel conference of Switzerland Tourism and hotelleriesuisse with the participation of 450 hotel operators. We look forward to continue using SBPs in the future.”
Jérôme Rochat
NOC Relations & Project Manager – Lausanne 2020 YOG
"If I were to summarize this experience in three words, I would say: Professionalism, Creativity and Quality. We have benefited from EHL's expertise through two student-business projects as part of our professional partnership with EHL, and we are delighted.
The students were fully involved in the tasks entrusted to them and worked with a concrete, serious and structured approach. They showed great professionalism, a lot of creativity and a great team spirit that we are particularly focused on for Lausanne 2020!"
Sophie Heu
Manager of Organizational Development and HR – Evian Resort & Spa
"As an EHL graduate, it is always a pleasure for me to be able to work with the students at the School. After seeing the results from two Student Business Projects entrusted to the students, I am extremely proud of the work they have produced. Their ability to analyze, think outside the box and be innovative allowed them to respond to our needs.
We have used most of their recommendations, and we continue, even after a few years, to use their reports as a source of reflection and work. It is a unique experience which has also allowed us to look at ourselves freshly and challenge our organizations."
Pascal Duperret
Sales and Marketing Manager, Golden Pass
"We commissioned an SBP group for major market research concerning the visibility of our lines. The five students in charge of the task did a remarkable job.
Supported by their marketing professor, they were fully involved in the project, combining methodological rigor and creative proposals. We particularly want to acknowledge the seriousness and enthusiasm with which they completed the task."
Your business projects can be assigned to an entire class or several teams of students guided by faculty members. This tailored approach allows for multiple creative approaches within a short time frame, with fresh, out-of-the-box ideas to develop an innovative strategy.
Teams of students from the global master degree work on your project while gathering international and regional insights from their courses in Switzerland, Hong Kong and the USA. Working from a brief, the methodology often includes a site visit for students to gain deeper understanding of your processes and operations, so they can provide solutions with maximum relevance.
The EMBA Capstone projects engage a small team of students to address your project needs over a 9-month period. Drawing on their previous business experience, and faculty coaching, they apply the academic tools for research and analysis from their program to devise applicable solutions.
CEO Challenges give organizations the opportunity to gain insights from teams of EMBA students to generate innovative ideas to solve complex business issues. The project format structures a short, intense collaboration for a quick turnaround from launch to completion.
Contact us and we will discuss your ideas and expectations, and determine whether EHL student consulting can provide the solution to your needs.
